Our safety, health and the environment policy sets out clear responsibilities. To meet these responsibilities, we in CSR will:
|
comply with all legislative obligations - by ensuring that our businesses are managed in accordance with the CSR Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) Standard.
manage risks - identifying all workplace hazards and potential environmental problems and taking all necessary action to control their impact.
ensure joint responsibility - making sure everyone knows that they are responsible for their own and others' safety and health and the environment, setting clearly defined responsibilities for all managers, team leaders and all other CSR people - and holding them accountable for this.
use targets and measurement - we will manage using coordinated safety, health and environment action plans for each business and site, with challenging targets against which to measure progress, to ensure continuous improvement.
report and investigate all safety, health and environmental incidents and near misses, to implement timely corrective action to prevent recurrence.
ensure consultation with, and involvement of, everyone in safety, health and environmental matters, including:
- CSR people
- contractors and customers
- the communities in which we operate
- regulatory authorities
provide appropriate training and information for CSR employees, contractors and visitors communicate clearly and openly CSR's safety, health and environment commitments and performance.
involve ourselves in the development of standards - by appropriately contributing to the review and evolvement of industry standards and legislative requirements
ensure responsible product stewardship - by requiring high standards of product responsibility, from production to disposal.
These commitments will be regularly reviewed in the light of developments, including changes in the law, our understanding of best practice, and the organisation of the CSR Group.
